Is there any agencies that assist in helping out with electricity bills in texas?

  • January 28, 2010 4:09 pm

Someone told me that there was some agencies who would help if you are having a hardt time keeping up with your light bill in texas. i am stuck with a $1000 light bill that went up from $300 to $1000…its ridiculous!!! Cirro Energy sucks!

The federal government offers programs. Contact your electric company and ask them what the local programs are in your area.

I shared a house with two men last year. One of them has not paid me the electricity bills. what should I do?

  • January 27, 2010 9:51 am

I have reminded him many times.

Remind him in writing and try get a written response. If he admits then you can go to smal claims court. If he ignores you, see if you can get copies magazines etc he subscribed in his name at the address where he owes electricity. Keep on hounding him by mail regariding the money he owes. If he is a rotten cad and continues to ignore you write it off as a bad loss.

how can i save money on my gas and electricity bills?

  • January 17, 2010 6:59 pm

latest bill was very expensive any handy tips?

It’s amazing how many little things can add up on your bill. Just unplugging dvd players, tv’s radios and things that sit on standby mode cut down bills. But it’s a pain to constantly plug and unplug one’s appliances and electronics.

Changing to energy efficient light bulbs are an investment of a little more money at first but helps as well.

Want to cut down the water bill as well?
Fill up a gallon milk jug with water and put it in the tank of your toilet, it will use much less water to flush your toilet because it raises the water level in the tank quicker.

How much money can you save on water and electricity bills…?

  • January 15, 2010 8:31 pm

by taking short showers, turning off electric appliances whenever I’m not using them, turning down the thermostat a few degrees…etc. Can you describe what you did and about how much money you saved? Thanks!

You have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T. What kind of cutbacks can you make? For example: I drink bottled water. Now at $1 a bottle on something that covers over 65% of our planet is not smart. So I bought one of those water filters that screw into your faucet. I have bottles that I refil over and over again. I take them to work. Do you have a lot of small appliances around that house that are always on? I cut my electronic bill almost in half by unplugging all the clock radios and night lights. I also bought some of those florescent bulbs that look a lot like a regular bulb. These things use 80% less electricity than regular bulbs. You would be surprised, but these small things add up. I know I was spending money on the water filter and energy efficient bulbs but these things will pay for themselves in a month providing they pertain to you. If you really need the money right away start cutting back on your food costs. Romain noodles cost a dime and they taste just as good as campbells chicken noodle that costs $130 a can. Ok no chicken in romain noodles, but you are probably just missing about 4 tiny pieces of chicken. Put a brick inside your toilet ‘chamber’. You will use a little lesser water each time you flush..Before you know it you will be ahead. Wanna be creative? Find yourself leaving lights on? Buy a motion sensor switch, the lights will turn on when you enter the room and will turn off (by a set amount of time) when you leave the room. I have one, they cost $15 at HomeDepot. Need new windshield wipers for your car? Who says you have to buy 2? You only need the new one on the drivers side, leave the old wiper on the passenger side. So remember you have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T! Yours truly seahorsehawrey.

Was told you are, just want the facts before I make a claim!
Of course private companies don’t want you to know it but it may be so
Kendra26uk: td wasn’t from me and thanks for your answer!

YES you are! And your right they won’t shout it out to every tom dik and harry for obvious reasons but it’s there!

Was told about it from the CAB.

All I did was give my supplier a call, was asked to provide national insurance number and was put on the tariff.

Easy!

Edit: Elric, no I know it wasn’t from you! :0) You don’t seem the type :0)

I’m shocked by the food bill.

how much water and electricity bills comes for a month for family of 4 per month.?

  • January 6, 2010 4:33 am

how much water and electricity bill comes each month family of 4. near bay area , concord .

Assuming you have the usual appliances (refrigerator, television, washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc. and are not running central A/C), electricity should be around or between $100 – $150 per month during the summers and about $200 – $250 during the winters because of the additional heating costs. It really depends on whether or not you’ve got gas or electrical appliances/heaters.

As for water, that should cost you about $50 per month.
