£0.25 in the emergency? I’ve just put on £6 like I used to with my previous supplier, and nothing has changed – it still says: £0.25E
It’s a Siemens Meter. And DISP R. (after pressing the blue button several times) says £6 E.C which I would imagine means it’s been accepted. But the main display still says £0.25. I just need to know whether it will run out tonight, and if I need to put any more on.

What type of meter – a smart card meter or one which uses a coloured plastic key? My hubby works for a meter company and says you should be in credit now but tell me the meter type and he may be able to help further. It’s not his meter co but he says if it were then this is what to do (they may work similarly). Clear however much of the EMC you have used plus minimum of £1 (which it sounds like you have done). You may have a large DRR or your meter is faulty – most meters do not disconnect between 7pm and 7am (as customer centres are closed) and you’d be stuffed with no leccy! Some have non disconnect the whole weekend so sounds like you should be OK. Good luck.

It depends on how much emergrncy credit was set on your meter when edf took it over.
If you had £4 emergency credit, then you would have to put at least £5 in and then that would give you £1 credit.
Try pressing the button near token slot to find out if one of the figures will tell you how much emergency credit it gives.

Pre payment meters are always a problem, but as yours is a key meter it should be ok. You say it says £6 E.C does this mean Emergency Credit? If so then you need to put more onto your meter. Also when you go into your emergency credit on your meter no standing charge is taken off, and if there is a debt setting on your meter that isnt taken off either. It is because emergency credit is only used on electricty usage. This means that when you next top up you owe more money than you can see e.g. you owe however many days standing charge and also any debt that has been set to be collected. This means although it says only 25p in emergency credit you may owe more. Just try topping up again.
