Are we, the British public, that daft that we are continuing to be ripped off, by companies that are only interested in profit, they said because oil went up by over 60% they upped our bills by silly amounts and we paid, but now the price for oil is now less than half of what it was 6 months ago, but NO price decreases by all the gas and electric companies
Why do we continue to accept this, I have changed my supplier, but the new company is STILL well above prices 6 months ago?

Because they don’t make gas and electricity out of petrol. The wholesale price of gas is coming down, but it’s likely to lag behind oil by a few weeks. Then one of the energy companies will break ranks to try to steal the others’ business.

Ah yes, well unfortuantely it goes on supply and demand and cost, and what people fail to realise is that unless we adopt a similar plan like and I hate to say it, the French, in nuclear power, then we we all continue to face ever increasing bills. Why, well its al due to those wonderful European charges, you know the little things to do with the environment.

The gas companies buy the gas months in advance the same applies to electricity suppliers so you are still paying for the energy they bought months ago

What i don’t understand is why everyone complains before they do something about it, and i don’t mean something like changing suppliers or writing constantly letters to get prices lowered i mean using less of the over priced resources or considering alternative fuels.

I agree with LBJ. Also they don’t care about the consumers because thanks to the ‘I’m all right Jack society’ born of Thatcher; they sold their souls a long time ago and won’t be the ones in need of woolly jumpers. We have to change and beat them at their own game and stop complaining and refusing alternative methods. Unfortunately it won’t affect their greedy pockets now…

my gas and leky are pre paid meters and am now paying an average of £80 on each (£160) a month, something has to be done?
i changed back my supplier as they offered a fixed rate to 2011, SG glad i did as the company NPower rocketed after i did
Scottish/British Gas are the company who said their annual turnover was up close to 200% or over we can see why!!!!!!!
