ClipBandits became instant YouTube sensations as the world’s first web band with the release of their first video, “Internet Killed the Video Star”, which has since been viewed over 1.3 million times. ClipBandits had never met each other, didn’t know each other’s names or where each other lived. They only knew one another’s YouTube user names and created their original music by syncing each other’s YouTube videos.

Yes that is correct- we each record our part separate. What we didn’t know then is that if we didn;t all use the same format when recording, the timing eventually goes out. In my other virtual band- we all play to the same mp3.

Pretty cool, but if I understand this correctly, each member is downloading “Clips” that the other band members have recorded, and then all of the clips are played together like multi-track recording. Is this correct?
What i’m looking for is a way to have practice live through the Internet. Not recordings of each members parts. My band members are each 75 miles away. Or is that what you are doing? Perhaps the Internet has too much latency for this to be possible. Anyone?

I thought of this concept many years ago, but have never seen anyone do it. I’m currently playing in an 80s rock band. I live 75 miles away from practice, and the singer lives 50. I’d love to find a way to hookup the audio out from my keyboards to feed live over the Internet, and listen to live audio from other band members. If such software/hardware exists for this, please tell me about it. Thanks. Nate
