Just for the record….Neil Diamond only wrote 2 of their songs. One wasn’t one of their best (ie: ‘Look Out’). The other was “I’m A Believer”.

I saw ELP at the Oval (a cricket ground for our non UK posters) in I think 1973 along with Genesis, Argent, Focus and a couple of others which are now forgotten for 70 pence! God how time shave changed. I think it was either the NME or Melody Maker band of the year concert.

angelrocket88: The …
angelrocket88: The musicians didn’t want to stop doing that – it’s just the public wanted something else. Culture and capitalism meet at the low end of the cultural spectrum, unfortunately!
(PS Most of the Monkees best tunes were written by Neil Diamond. They wrote very little themselves – though that was more because they weren’t allowed to than because they couldn’t.)
Music is all about …
Music is all about simple things today. The music by ELP is emotional to me and it is has nothing to do with whining like some bands. It touches a sense that barely any music can. It does not care what rims are on your car or what’s in your bank account. It is music that is almost otherworldly.
