Long version of Texas Flood by stevie ray vaughn ! Texas Flood is an electric blues album by blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band Double Trouble, released in 1983.
Although “Texas Flood” has three verses of lyrics, the song is more of a prolonged guitar solo, allowing Vaughan to show off his characteristic electric blues style. During live shows, he would often play portions of this song behind his back, arousing an enthusiastic crowd response. Stylistically, “Texas Flood” is structured around the common three chord blues progression. Written and performed in the key of G (sounding F# because of Vaughan’s tuning), it is in 12/8 time, or compound time[1], which gives it a “slow burning” feel that is common in Texas blues.

Hahaha… You are …
Hahaha… You are funny Geep, again showing off how stupid you are when it comes to blues and guitar playing, you silly and poor thing… Get a life and stop pretending to know something about the blues and for crying out loud stop thrashing world class musical icons. You can only dream about being in a class with people like SRV, Hendrix, etc… you retarded wannabe!
Well I don’t think …
Well I don’t think WE are talking idolatry in the biblical sense. Jimi said in Third Stone I think “…never hear surf music again” I never took it too heart but I guess some do. You are right and indirectly Dick Dale has had nearly the influence on modern guitar as Jimi. The first instrumental rock guitar band the Ventures were highly influenced by Dale. __Django, yes there is monumental source to learn from. A student gave me 2 CD’s, still can amaze me .

grga, Fool around …
grga, Fool around all you want but you know better. I was gigging and teaching blues to adult students >10 years prior to hearing Mr. Vaughan, so I have some understanding. I’ve trashed no one. As for me as a player: LISTEN to my video & see the comments ( I’ve approved ALL ). BTW I’ve met your requests for video & now I want to see and hear you play. That’s fair. All kidding aside: When you are ready I will still gladly help you, because you inspire to me. I mean that , no sarcasm.
Idolatry is OK with …
Idolatry is OK with me when done in the right place; I ‘m a huge Django Reinhardt admirer but I don’t browse Hendrix vids to drool over Django. The only jerks that seem to not understand it are Hendrix fans; one even wrote on a Dick Dale vid “Jimi blows this guy out of the water”; if that’s not moronic I don’t know what is (I am not attacking YOU)
Wow! I’m impressed.

Yes the styles and …
Yes the styles and riffs were known to me. Having studied & performed songs by BB King & Albert King, Willie Dixon, Cream, Jimi Hendrix J Winter & even the Ventures for years, when I first heard Vaughan something in his playing resonated with me . Many players share this point of view, not that you can understand it. Thanks yet again grga for sharing the sheer entertainment value of your unique style of unwitting humor…and still pretending not to have wet your pants listening to me.

the first time I heard this it was on a PBS special Willie Nelson And Friends . There was this kid with really long hair on lead guitar . I wish I could find it , if anyone can please post it here it’s awesome .

5507156693, Agreed the idolatry is laughable. It is however the nature of the vast majority of people to be followers. Learning can be energized by Fanaticism. Temporary fanaticism can be a great learning tool. In the young mind it is common . I have focused on an artist to the point of exclusion of all else and then moved on to do the same with another. It those that don’t move on that are stuck in a rut. It is not religion, certainly not a monotheistic one and they are NOT “gods”.

Ranking guitar …
Ranking guitar players kills all credibility of the person doing it; as if you’ve heard every guitar player in the world to say who’s first and who’s a “close second”; whatever. I don’t understand why does SRV bug Hendrix admirers so much? All this idolatry seems so superfluous if not laughable especially when done on a non-Hendrix vid

Wow Jess, into …
Wow Jess, into Jules Vern , Gene Roddenberry territory, space time continuum ripple. I must look deeply inside and audition “What would have filled a Hendrixless void ?”… Other influences. The relatively revolutionary Beck, Page, Townshend, Clapton, Santana were fully formed before hearing Hendrix (controlled feedback, smashing guitars). SRV would sound different but I think would still have had his mission .
Personal opinions …
Personal opinions should not be challenged and it was kind of you to make this sound like just your personal opinion. However, would you clarify what “ahead of his timeand ours” means? From what I hear mainstream popular music has taken a totally different direction and I see no signs of it making the U-turn and going in the wakes of the 60s aka Hendrix rock. When will the time of Hendrix arrive? (And don’t dare to touch the Beatles, please)
