It’s amazing how many little things can add up on your bill. Just unplugging dvd players, tv’s radios and things that sit on standby mode cut down bills. But it’s a pain to constantly plug and unplug one’s appliances and electronics.
Changing to energy efficient light bulbs are an investment of a little more money at first but helps as well.

Fill up a gallon milk jug with water and put it in the tank of your toilet, it will use much less water to flush your toilet because it raises the water level in the tank quicker.

Weather stripping by doors and windows.
Unplug unused appliances, especially any that have clock or L.E.D. displays. They use energy even when you are not using them.
CFL bulbs in lights instead of regular bulbs.
For TV’s, lamps, etc. you can put them all on a power strip and turn it off at the switch. They cost about $10 and will pay for themselves in a few months if you use consistently.
