My electricity bill has been so high for the past few months. I used to pay around $100.00 last year but this year it is a whopping $395.00. I am fed up and ready to switch over to something that is going to save me money. Any advice?
You could switch to Solar Power energy that would literally save you thousands. And it doesn’t even cost much to set up.
How do I switch to renewable energy at home? I am tired of high Electricity bills?

No matter what source of energy, you need to be very efficient in it’s use.
Try switching to energy saving light bulbs and appliances.
I saw a 15% drop in my bill when I did that.

for green living on a budget, try doing a search on "green switch"
i saw this featured in history channel’s modern marvels show
electrical appliances, when left plugged into wall sockets, use electricity even when turned off/ in standby mode (check this youtube video out – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaE_N6zW5Qc)
green switch is a "master switch" that cuts off power to the electrical outlets so there’s no need to unplug them all one by one (which is boring and a big burden) everytime you are going away or about to sleep or whatever. One flick of the switch and your house will be saving electricity

Well its not cheap at all to just change over . Anything to do with energy will cost you an arm and leg that and your first born . I have been building solar panels but it takes allot of skill time and patience . Just to buy them pre assembled is way to much for me from what little amp you get out of them . Took me a long time to get to where i am now . I also build my own wind mills from junk parts that most people through in the trash . Any kind of magnet motor will put out usable electricity . Ive gone a far as to build a wind mill using an old car generator to building a small wind mill using a bicycle generator . I am running about 90% of my home from 30 12 volt batteries and inverters that change 12 volt to 120 . They work really well . The only problem is running a refrigerator because it takes so much power but im working on that . Hot water i got an instant hot water heater using propane . It cost me around $30 every two months for showers and dishes . Lots of ways you can save just have to make up your mind to do it that and a little research

Hello D,
We have helped a lot of our customers in Perth to reduce their electricity bill. We are happy to give you some advices as there are several ways how you can reduce your electricity bill:
The first step would be to identify the main consumers in your household. That will by devices like air conditioning, halogen light, Incandescent lights and any product with a lower then 2 Star Energy Rating (check if there is a sticker on you electrical device) or alternatively get a professional energy audit for your house: http://www.carbonfootie.com.au/audits
Second step will be to think about energy efficient alternatives. Especially for the lights there a lot of low consuming lighting solutions such as LED. They can save you between 40-80% of your electricity costs. For more infos on this topic see http://www.carbonfootie.com.au/lighting
Third option is to think about producing your own electricity to be more independent from electricity companies that are on a constant price raising trip. A good alternative is solar power, see http://www.carbonfootie.com.au/solar-power
